Screen It Tote Bag
Come and join us for a couple of hours on July 30th. We are going to "Play" with the screen totes. You will have so much fun designing your very own tote/purse. Everyone you know will want one "just like yours". This is a great class for beginners or advanced quilters / sewers.

Pretty on Point
Make a quilt top in an afternoon, it is possible with the Pretty on Point class! Make a crib or lap size quilt in an afternoon using Pellon On Point fusible interfacing. It's easy and fun and depending on your sewing skills you can get the top pieced in during the class! This is a great class for beginners and advanced quilters. The pattern is provided in the class fee.

FRENCH BRAID QUILT CLASS
QUILTERS BEWARE --- French braid quilts are extremely addictive! Betcha can’t make just one!Learn to design and create eye-catching quilts with relative ease! You will learn specifics on choosing fabrics for dynamic “braid runs” and how to “braid” those fabrics using log cabin techniques.
The first session is on Saturday at 10:00 am and lasts about an hour. We will talk about fabric selection and preparation, and you will have an opportunity to purchase your fabric and supplies. The second session will be on Sunday from 1:00 to 6:00 pm. You will piece your braid runs, learn how to assemble them, and hopefully finish the center. If you do not finish the quilt during class, you will be instructed on how to complete it at home. French Braid book is required and can be purchased at SunFlower Quilts.
French braid quilts are forgiving, but you should have good rotary cutting skills, and know how to sew a ¼” seam.

Beginners Delectable Mountains quilt – beginner basics class
Learn quilting basics; quilting terms, fabric grain, 1/4 inch seams and precise cutting with your rotary cutter and mat to make this traditional quilt. We will be making these simple blocks that look complicated. The quilt center can be any 12 inch block (pieced or appliqué). If you wish to make the Coxcomb block in the shop sample, you will need to take the machine appliqué class.Tuesdays, July 8th and 15th 6:30 – 8:30 pm

UPTOWN DOWNTOWN QUILT CLASS
Transform just three different fabrics into a work of art! You can create your quilt into a 3-Dimensional illusion by choosing either. . .one color fabric in three different values (i.e. light red, medium red and dark red), . . .or. . .three different colors in three different values (i.e. a light beige, a medium blue and a dark green). Either way, you will have an outstanding quilt that will definitely catch everyone’s eye. And only you will know that it’s simple to make. . . using only one block! There are no Y-seams, and your choice of fabric gives the quilt its depth. If you have good rotary cutting skills, and know how to sew a ¼” seam, you can really wow your friends. You will complete the center in class and just add your borders at home!Sunday, July 27, 1:00 – 5:00 pm

Quilting À la Carte

This isa series of 4 classes, each teaching a different skill to complete a round robin or medallion quilt. You are not obligated to take all the classes involved, but If you finish the complete series of classes you will have a queen size quilt show-casing each skill. If you choose to just take a few of the classes each class will give you a pattern show-casing a particular skill to make a lap quilt. Here is the list of the first 2 classes.

Machine Appliqué – learn both zig-zag and button hole machine quilting techniques

This classis part of the Quilting Ala Carte series. This technique will be used for the center medallion and the third border on the top and bottom. This class will also teach how to do the Coxcomb block for the center of the delectable mountains quilt.
Finish your quilt Class – pinning, basic machine quilting and binding class

This class is designed for beginning quilts who have finish their quilt top but don’t know how to make that wonderful top into a quilt. The class will be limited to 4 students. You will learn to properly pin a quilt for machine quilting on your domestic sewing machine. How to do basic quilting to stabilize the quilt and some simple designs to complement your quilt top.

This class is designed for the beginner or inexperienced quilter who wishes to complete the project in class. The quilt will be taught as a series of 12 monthly classes where each month two blocks are made. Any one pattern can be made into a lovely quilt on its own, but can also be used as a sample quilt at the end of the 12 months. Sign up each month for the class you are interested in.

Basic Rotary Cutting

Learn the basics of rotary cutting plus some tips. Accurate cutting is an essential part of quilting. This is a great beginner class and will be a required class for future classes.

Class Registration Policies
You must be pre-registered to attend classes at SunFlower Quilts. Full payment is required to hold your space in any class. You may cancel at least 5 days before class to receive a refund. If we must cancel a class, you will be fully refunded. Please arrive 10 – 15 minutes before class begins to set up your sewing machine etc. When a sewing machine is required please be familiar with it and remember the foot control, all accessories and owner’s manual. Cellular phones should be turned off as a courtesy to other students. If the minimum students are not filled the class will be cancelled.
