June is here already! Summer has begun. We hope everyone will have a little extra time and a more flexible schedule to enjoy this summer. We are so glad to see all of our wonderful customers at our new shop’s location and thanks for all the positive responses! *New Books and Notions: We are carrying Quilting Arts Magazine, Quilts and More, And Fons and Porters new Easy Quilts Magazine. We have lots of new books for charms, jelly rolls, fat ¼’s and just about everything else to make a quilt! We have new patterns for quilts, clothes, home decor items and even stuffed animals. Notions, Marti Michell’s new templates called Kaleidoscope ruler in 2 sizes, Setting triangle rulers in 2 sizes, and 2 ½” Strippers rulers. We are also carrying Misty Fuse fusible, Steam a Seam 2 in regular and light 24” wide. The bendable light just came in and we only have 8 left! They are $49.99 each,

*Ovarian cancer awareness and research update: Ovarian cancer awareness and research update: The online auction that MD Anderson was a wonderful success!! The quilts and all of the wonderful hands and creative juices that made them made $11,440! Lets see if we can raise $22,000 for next year’s auction! I know we can do it. All proceeds go for Ovarian Cancer Research, Also, this weekend, May 3rd kicks off the Sprint for Life fun run to start this years campaign for Ovarian Cancer Awareness you can get more info at www.mdanderson.org/departments/ovarianquilt .
*Charm School details are getting worked out! We will have more information ready in the next few weeks! We plan on starting Charm School in July so get ready to learn lots about using 5” squares! We already have 12 quilts planned and lots of tricks for using charm squares! Registration will begin in July!
*The Wild Wild West Shop Hop dates have been set for June 19 – 22, 2008. We are asking our customers to donate 12” predominately teal 12 ½” unfinished blocks again this year. We already have 3 beautiful blocks hanging in the shop and we are working on teal block kits that will cost only $3.50 per kit! All the shops will be involved again with MD Anderson in the Quilt Teal campaign. Blank textiles have designed 14 new Ovarian Cancer Teal fabrics for us and they are HERE! Remember when you buy these fabrics a portion of the purchase goes to ovarian cancer research from Blank Textiles! We will once again have a sew-in to put all the blocks together into tops September 28, 2008 from 2-8pm. We are very excited about the new Quilting Arts show on PBS at 8am Saturday mornings, its fresh and will certainly inspire you, the Wild Wild West Shop Hop Shops have an advertisement on right before the Quilting Arts show begins to help promote the Ovarian Cancer campaign, you might even see your quilt in the background from the last years Ovarian Cancer Quilts! That way you can split the gas costs, stop for a great lunch and have fun with friends you haven’t seen in a while
*That Quilter Donna Warnement will be here the 1st Tuesday June 3rd from 10am – noon.
Come bring your tops for quilting or pick one up that’s been quilted. Come for show and tell you will be inspired seeing all the quilts! Donna does beautiful work; you will be pleased with her quilting expertise!
*Block of the Month Kits: May Sunbonnet Sue BOM kits will be ready June 15th. We are finished with our new BOM called Flower Garden, we will have it ready to view June 15th and you can sign up for the new BOM then and learn all the details including cost etc.! You are going to love it and it was so much fun to make!
The Thimbleberries Club will meet Sunday June 8th from 2-3pm or Thursday June 12th from 6-7pm.
