April is here and we are enjoying the new shop location! We have some exciting things happening this month! Read on to find out about all the events that we have planned.
Ovarian cancer awareness and research update: The online auction that MD Anderson is handling is active from March 26th through April 9th 2008! We hope you were able to visit the quilts in person at MD Anderson; they were hung beautifully and the display was very impressive. Come by the shop and see some photos of the quilts hanging at MD Anderson. Several of the quilts have already received bids. Please visit the web site auction and place your bid. All proceeds go for Ovarian Cancer Research!

Book Signing and Trunk Show
SunFlower Quilts Welcomes Meg Cox, author of the new book: The Quilter's Catalog: A Comprehensive Resource Guide. The event will be held Thursday April 10,2008 from 12:30pm – 2pm at the shop.

The Wild Wild West Shop Hop dates have been set for June 19 – 21, 2008. We are asking our customers to donate predominately teal 12 ½” unfinished blocks again this year. All the shops will be involved again with MD Anderson in the Quilt Teal campaign. Blank textiles have designed 14 new Ovarian Cancer Teal fabrics for us and will be available in late April. We will once again have a sew-in to put all the blocks together into tops in late September 2008.

That Quilter Donna Warnement will be here the 1st Tuesday, April 1st from 10am – noon. Come bring your tops for quilting or pick one up that’s been quilted. Come for show and tell, you will be inspired seeing all the quilts! Donna does beautiful work; you will be pleased with her quilting expertise!

We will have a Grand Re-Opening Celebration on Saturday April 19,2008 from 9am – 4pm. We’ll have door prizes and would love for you to come celebrate with us!
Block of the Month Kits: March’s Sunbonnet Sue BOM kits are ready; the April kits will be ready April 15th. The Flower of the Month kits are ready. This is the last block for the Flower of the Month BOM. On March 28th the finishing kit will be ready.
The Thimbleberries Club will meet Thursday April 10th from 6-7pm or Sunday April 13th from 2-3pm. See you at our new location and thanks for all your support!
