November is here. Wow, where has the year gone by?  We hope that you will get a chance to go the Quilt Festival at the George R. Brown Convention Center.  It is a wonderful show; I promise you will be inspired!


Ovarian cancer awareness and research update!  Go to our web site for all the info for the Ovarian Cancer Awareness campaign. We have 4 tops left for volunteers to quilt.  You don't have to bind it, we can do that for you. We need them back by mid February 2008. Come by and pick one up if you can. The online auction that MD Anderson is handling will be in April 2008!

Idea Saturday is the 3rd Saturday, November 17th at 9am sharp!  Come for at least 5 ideas and get the instructions for each idea FREE!  Logan will make his egg tortillas and we will have juice, so come have breakfast and get some new Ideas!  You know, Christmas will be here before you know it.

New Notions: The Side Winder [click here to see it] portable bobbin winder is here.  They are $29.99, what a great addition to your notions!  Come see one today.
 
We now carry all the YO YO makers!  The hearts, flowers and circles and they come in 2 different sizes.  They are fun and fast and so easy to make!
  
One Yard Hugs: We are asking our WONDERFUL customers to donate One Yard Hugs again this year for the preemie babies in the neonatal units of Houston area hospitals.  Our goal this year is to donate 300!  Last year we donated 219 One Yard Hugs.  We will collect them through the middle of December.

All you have to do is buy a yard of flannel fabric and finish the raw edges all around, how easy is that?

Upcoming Classes:  Sat. Nov. 3rd "Turning 20 Again Quilt"; Sat. Nov.10th "Hand Quilting" and  "Machine Quilting" Tues. Nov. 13.  Check the classes page on the web site for more information.

The 3rd Annual Jingle Bell Shop Hop is coming Thursday Nov. 29th thru Sat. Dec 1st.  Each shop will have designed a Christmas ornament, which you get the free pattern or you can buy a kit for $3 each, plus you get a cookie recipe from each shop.  What a great way to start your Christmas shopping, and if you visit all 8 shops you will get a chance to win some great prizes.  For more info go to www.wildwildwestshophop.com.

We picked up a bunch of new books at market. Come by and see them.
 
The Thimbleberries Club will meet Friday November 9 from 6-7 pm or Sunday November 11 from 6-7 pm.  We also have info about next year's Thimbleberries club. It's called Lodge and Lakeside.  We are doing the Lakeside colorway. Here is a photo of it.  If anyone is interested in the Thimbleberries Club for 2008, please come as a guest to one of the meetings and see how much fun we have!

That Quilter Donna Warnement will be here the 2nd Tuesday (November only) November 13th from 10 - noon.  Come bring your tops for quilting or pick one up that's been quilted.

Upcoming Events:  We are going to start a Charm Club in January 2008.  Don't know what to make with all those pre-cut charm squares? This is the club for you.  We are working on all the details now and more info will be coming in the next couple of weeks.
 
We are also going to start a new Block of the Month in Feb. 2008 called Garden Friends.  Here is a photo of it.  It has piecing and appliqu?.  More info coming soon! Larger image on our Block of the Month page.

We will be closed from Thursday Nov. 22 through Sunday Nov. 25th for the Thanksgiving Holiday.

Blocks of the Month Kits:  The October Flower of the Month kits are ready and the November Sunbonnet Sue Block of the Month kits will be ready November 15th.
