SunFlower Quilts October Newsletter
October is here, school has started and we are heading into the fall season, my favorite! Time to get those sewing projects started or finished.
Ovarian cancer awareness and research! Go to our web site for all the info for the Ovarian Cancer Awareness campaign. We have the best customers and most caring customers and feel so blessed! What a great turnout for the sew in on Sept. 23rd. We had about 75 volunteers and did they work hard! We put together over 30 tops in 6 hours! Wow. Check with one of the participating shops if you are interested in finishing a top; that means quilt and bind it and get it back by the end of February 2008. The online auction that MD Anderson is handling will be in April 2008!

Our annual fat ¼ sale will be on the 2nd Saturday of this month. It is on October 13, 2007 from 9am – 4pm. All fat ¼”s will be $1.25!! We will not cut fat ¼’s during the sale.
New Notions:We now carry all the YO YO makers! The hearts, flowers and circles come in 2 different sizes. They are fun and fast and so easy to make!
Quilt Festival Tickets: We are selling Quilt Festival tickets. The tickets are $8 for seniors and $10 for everyone else. There are also 4-day passes for $35. We are taking either cash or checks made out to Quilts Inc. for the tickets.
One Yard Hugs: We are asking our WONDERFUL customers to donate One Yard Hugs again this year for the preemie babies in the neonatal units of Houston area hospitals. Our goal this year is to donate 300 hugs! Last year we donated 219. We will collect them through mid December.
All you have to do is buy a yard of flannel fabric and finish the raw edges all around, how easy is that!
We have lots of new fabrics! Moda’s Fresh Air, Blossom and Shangri La. RJR’s, Tiny Treasures, Thimbleberries Cover Story; Blank Textiles Rescue ll a cute fire truck line.

That Quilter: Donna Warnement will be here the 1st Tuesday, October 2, 2007 from 10am – Noon. Bring your quilt tops for quilting or come pick one up, or just come to see all the beautiful quilts, it’s a wonderful show and tell, you will be inspired!
The Thimbleberries Quilt Club will meet Sunday October 14 from 2-3pm or Friday October 12 from 6-7pm. We also have information about next year's Thimbleberries club. It is called Lodge and Lakeside.
