Wild Wild West Shop Hop
The Shop Hop is June 15th – 23rd. It will be great fun and a tribute to ovarian cancer awareness! All the blocks in the shop hop quilt will be made from the teal ovarian cancer fabric line “Inspiration” by Blank textiles. Each shop will set the blocks in their own setting design. You too can help in the awareness of ovarian cancer! We would like our customers to start donating 12 ½” unfinished blocks in predominately teal colors. They can be any block design you wish. We will begin accepting the blocks May 1st, the same week as MD Anderson’s annual "Sprint for Life" fun run (May 5th) here in Houston! We will collect the blocks and hang them in the 9 participating shop hop shops thru Sept. 2007! Take your blocks to your favorite participating shop (SunFlower Quilts, of course) and they will be displayed for all to enjoy until Sept 2007. Then we will have a joint sew-in in September including all 9 participating shops (date to be announced) much like our Quilt Pink sew-in last year! We will put all the blocks together into quilts and MD Anderson will auction them in an online auction during the Spring of 2008! Wow! All the shops are so excited about this local collaboration but the most important aspect is about getting everyone educated about the seriousness of ovarian cancer! Contact any of the 9 participating shops for more information or go to www.wildwildwestshophop.com.
You can learn more about ovarian cancer on the MD Anderson Ovarian Cancer page: www.mdanderson.org/diseases/Ovarian/
