December is here. We can't believe the year is almost over! We want to thank our customers for a wonderful 2006. Looking back over the year, we have realized what tremendous customers we have. You have all been an inspiration and a blessing we never anticipated! In 2007 we look forward to make SunFlower Quilts your shop and provide you with products and services you want and deserve!
Jingle Bell Shop Hop
The Jingle Bell Shop Hop is right around the corner Friday December 1st through Sunday December 3rd. Visit each of the nine shops and receive a free ornament pattern from each shop. Go to our web site for more details. What a great time to get some Christmas shopping done and have fun with friends. It's a perfect way to start the holiday season!
One Yard Hugs
We are excited about the One Yard Hugs program. Please bring 1 yard of flannel which can have unfinished edges or finish the edges with your favorite method. The 1 yard hugs will be donated to preemie babies in local hospital's Neo-natal units. If you have any questions, please contact the shop or Theresa Filbreth at 713.246.7071. For each hug donated, you will receive a coupon from SunFlower Quilts. Last year we collected 120 hugs, lets see what we can do this year! We will collect 1 yard hugs until December 15th. There is a picture of last year's hugs on the website.
Log Cabin Block of the Month Kits
The Log Cabin BOM kits will be available Dec. 15th.
Quilts N More
We are now carrying Quilts N More Magazine by Better Homes & Gardens. There are lots of great ideas in this magazine, come by and check it out.
Turning 20 Around the Block
It's here, the new Turning 20 Book, the 3rd in a series called Turning 20 Around the Block. What an easy way to use focus fabrics, appliqué or embroidered blocks. You could even use photos!
Custom Quilt Kits
We are taking orders for custom quilt kits for Christmas. We will put together a kit for you; just let us know colors, designs, and how much you want to spend and we'll do the rest!
New books
New books have been coming in from "That Patchwork Place" and C&T Publishing. Check out the books page on our web site.
Join the "That Patchwork Place" Super Stitcher's Club. Here's how it works: buy 9 books or patterns published by "That Patchwork Place" and get a Super Saver's card stamped for each book or pattern purchased. Send your completed card to "That Patchwork Place" and receive a title of your choice! It's that easy.
Thimbleberries Club
The Thimbleberries Club will meet Friday December 8th and Sunday December 10th. We have information about the Thimbleberries Club for next year. Go to the web site or give us a call and see what the quilt looks like, we'd love for you to join the Thimbleberries Club 2007, we have a fun time!
Quilt Pink Update
The quilts are coming in. We have received 15 quilts back. They look great! Some are hand quilted and some are machine quilted. We have the best customers! As we receive the quilts back, we will hang them in the shop so come by and see how wonderful they are! In January we will have an airing of the quilts before we send them off, more info will come.
New Fabrics in the Shop
We have been getting in some new fabrics, they are: Moda - 3 Sisters Chocalat, Sandy Gervais Serendipity, Oodles of Poodles (a cute bright line), April Cornell Sonnet charm packs and fabric, : New fabrics from Clothworks; Lil' Monsters: New Fabrics from RJR; Thimbleberries New Flannels; Cowboys and Cowgirls. Fabrics from Maywood; Willowberry Winter.
We also have Moda's Spring Fling Charm Packs & Jelly Rolls. Jelly Rolls are the newest craze. They are 40-2 ½" strips cut to perfection and ready for sewing!

Second Annual Day After Christmas Sale
Our 2nd annual day after Christmas SALE will begin at 10am December 26th for one day only! Christmas fabrics will be 50% off and other fabrics will be 25% off. Minimum 1 yard cuts. Books, patterns and notions 10% off. Store hours 10 am - 5 pm. See you then!
Idea Saturday
Thanks for coming to Idea Saturday in November. Our next Idea Saturday is the 3rd Saturday January 20th at 9am sharp. Come by for some ideas and receive a free project sheet of each idea. There will be refreshments, it's a fun morning.
That Quilter
"That Quilter" Donna Warnement will be here the 1st Tuesday Dec. 5th from 10 - noon. Bring your tops for quilting or pick up one from last month. Donna does beautiful work!
Moda U Postcard Mystery Quilt
Moda U Postcard mystery quilt will meet the 4th Saturday Dec. 30th from 4-5pm. The blocks are $8 per month. Call us for more details. It's not too late to join!
Christmas Shop Hours
We will be closed Mon. Dec. 25th for Christmas and Mon. Jan. 1st for New Year's holidays.
