November is here and the start of all the hustle & bustle. November also means Quilt Festival, something we wait anxiously for all year! We hope you will take a class, view the quilts and shop, but most of all get inspired at Quilt Festival.
Jingle Bell Shop Hop
The Jingle Bell Shop Hop is right around the corner. It runs from Fri. Dec 1st through Sun. Dec 3rd. Visit each of the nine shops and receive a free ornament pattern from each shop. Go to http://www.wildwildwestshophop.com for more details. What a great time to get some Christmas shopping done and have fun with friends. It’s a perfect way to start the holiday season!
One Yard Hugs
We are excited about the 1 yard hugs program. Please bring 1 yard of flannel which can have unfinished edges or finish the edges with your favorite method. The 1 yard hugs will be donated to preemie babies in local hospitals Neo-natal units. If you have any questions please contact the shop or Theresa Filbreth at 713.246.7071. For each hug donated, you will receive a coupon from SunFlower Quilts. Last year we collected 120 hugs, lets see what we can do this year!
Block of the Month News
The Christmas BOM finishing kits are ready. We can’t believe it’s the final month! The Log Cabin BOM kits are ready also.
Thimbleberries Club
The Thimbleberries Club will meet Friday Nov. 10th and Sunday Nov. 12th. We have info about the Thimbleberries Club for next year. Go to the web site or give us a call and see what the quilt looks like, we’d love for you to join the Thimbleberries Club for 2007, we have a fun time!
Quilt Pink Update
The finished quilts are starting to come in. We have received 7 quilts back. They look great! Some are hand quilted and some are machine quilted, we have the best customers! As we receive the quilts back we will hang them in the shop, so come by and see how wonderful they are!
Quilt Classes
We have 2 classes offered in November, French Braid quilts and Tall Trees classes. Check them out on the classes page of the web site and see if you’re interested!
New Fabrics
We have been getting in some new fabrics, they are: Moda- 3 Sisters Chocalat, Oodles of Poodles (a cute bright line), April Cornell Sonnet charm packs (the fabric will be here any day), RJR’s Cowboys and Cowgirls. We have pictures of some of our other fabrics on the fabrics page of the web site.
Idea Saturday
Idea Saturday is the 3rd Saturday, November 18th at 9am sharp. Come by for some ideas and receive a free project sheet of each idea. There will be refreshments. Come by, it’s a fun morning.
That Quilter
“That Quilter” Donna Warnemnet will be here the 2nd Tuesday Nov. 14th from 10 – noon (note: not the 1st Tuesday). Bring your tops for quilting or pick up one from last month. Donna does beautiful work!
Moda U Postcard Mystery Quilt Meeting
Moda U Postcard mystery quilt will meet the 3rd Saturday (not the last Saturday) November 18th from 4-5pm. The blocks are $8 per month. Call us for more details. It’s not too late to join!
We will be closed Thursday November 23rd through Saturday November 25th for the Thanksgiving Holiday.
