Quilt Pink News

Wow! What a blessing to have so many Quilt Pink blocks made by all of you! Thanks for being so creative in your block designs.  Everyone says they are so much fun to look at. But now comes the time to bring them all together into a quilt that will bring someone great joy and also contribute to the effort to eliminate breast cancer from our lives. The following is a list of areas we will need help with at our sew-in at Gethsemane Lutheran Church on Sunday, Sept. 24th from 2-8pm. See map (link).

  • Quilt top design team (work together to coordinate the blocks into tops)
  • Fabric cutters (needed for block squaring, sashings, borders etc.)
  • Piecers and pressers (needed to assemble tops, please talk to us about bringing your machine and irons)
  • Food service (needed to help with refreshments)

Please let us know where you would like to help out or just be there for fellowship and support.

There will be a sign up sheet at the shop. If you cannot come by to sign up, please call or email to RSVP by Sat. Sept. 16th so we can accommodate everyone at the sew in.

We are planning for a pot luck meal at the sew-in. SunFlower Quilts will provide the meat and beverages. When you sign up please indicate if you would like to bring a side dish or dessert. Feel free to bring fabrics from your stash to be used for sashings, borders, bindings or backs. We will also accept monetary donations to help offset the cost of this event. All donations will be tax deductible.

We will also have a door prize drawing every hour at the sew in. Don't forget to sign up online for the Quilt Pink Sweepstakes to win fabulous prizes from the sponsors of Quilt Pink. Enter at http://www.Quiltpink.com/sweeps by Oct. 30th 2006.

September 30th 2006 is National Quilt Pink Day. We will have the quilt tops made at the sew in for everyone to see and take to quilt, tie and bind for the online auction in Spring 2007.

Quilt Pink Late Breaking News

We have been in contact with some members of a quilt club in the Czech Republic. They are really excited about the Quilt Pink project and have committed to make some blocks and send them to us so that we can include them in our quilts. This is so exciting. We have more information on the web site, look for the Quilt Pink logo.

Looking forward to seeing you this fall.

Blessings,

Logan and Jill
