Carol Doak Trunk Show

Carol Doak’s trunk show is in the shop from April 3rd through April 17th. We have quilts on display from her latest book Simply Sensational 9 Patch Stars by C&T Publishing. Come see the quilts and you will be amazed that they are all paper pieced! The book and her foundation paper are for sale as well. New Fabrics

We’ve gotten in some fun fabrics, one is from P&B Textiles, a child’s collection called the “Tortoise and the Hare”; very cute with great fresh colors. Another juvenile line is by Michael Miller called “Animal Crackers”, also very cute. Check out our fabrics page for some sample pictures.

We have several new patterns and lots of new books as well.

Idea Saturday Report

Thanks to all of you who came to “Idea Saturday” in March. The Next Idea Saturday will be May 20th, the 3rd Sat- 9am sharp. Come for free project sheets and refreshments and some good ideas for you to use these wonderful fabrics. Thanks to the Calico Bee for sharing their Texas Quilt and selling raffle tickets to win the quilt.

We are working on our summer class schedule. We hope to have the new schedule up on the website by mid-April.

Block of the Month News

We are still working on our new Block Of the Month. It is a Log Cabin BOM and the series will be starting at the end of May. There will be more info for you soon! The Christmas BOM kits are ready. The Thangles BOM is ready as well.  This is the last month for the Thangles BOM series, so you can pick up your 12th block, and if you ordered a finishing kit, that will be ready also.

Thimbleberries Club

The Thimbleberries Club will meet the 1st Friday, April 7th from 6-7pm and the 2nd Sunday, April 9th from 2-3pm. The meetings, as usual, will be held at the shop.

Wild Wild West Shop Hop

The Wild Wild West Shop Hop 2006 is coming and it will be here before you know it. The dates are June 16th-25th. That’s 10 days and 2 weekends! Make your plans now to attend. It is even more fun if you get a group together.

The Shop Hop is hosted by SunFlower Quilts and other participating quilt shops in the general Houston area. Come by the shop to pick up your passport. Then travel from shop to shop and have your passport stamped. Once your passport is completed, it becomes a ticket for entry to a drawing for prizes.
