New Year Greetings!

Happy New Year! Where did 2005 go? It surely went fast for us. We hope that everyone had a blessed holiday season. We have lots of things happening this month. We hope that you will come participate with us. Read on to see what we will be doing.

Thimbleberries Club News -- Vintage Stitches

The 2006 Thimbleberries Club will have its first meeting Friday Jan. 13th at 7pm or Sunday Jan. 2nd at 3pm. We meet at SunFlower Quilts. Come by the shop to sign up, we have all the information.

The theme for this year is Vintage Stitches. The back of the quilt is pieced as well as the front. I saw the quilt at market and it is stunning! Come by the shop to see a photo of the quilt. This is a very special club to me and I am looking forward to this year, I know it will be even better than last year.

Idea Saturday -- SunFlower Quilts Exclusive

We will have our second “Idea Saturday” on January 21st at 9 AM.We have some very interesting project ideas to show you. There will be a demonstration of several of the ideas presented. And of course, the project sheets are free.

Last month’s program was very popular and well attended. Be sure to get here on time, we will start right at 9 AM. We will have refreshments for you too. You really don't want to miss it!

The One Yard Hugs Project Was Very Successful!

I am happy to announce that Teresa delivered 125 One Yard Hugs! Each of the Hugs is a one-yard piece of flannel with finished edges. These blankets were delivered to local hospitals and then given to preemie babies. Thank you to all who participated.

Eleanor Burns Trunk Show at SunFlower Quilts

Eleanor Burns’ trunk show "Egg Money Quilts" will be here January 2nd through the 16th. You will be able to see the Sampler Quilt featured in Eleanor’s book "Egg Money Quilts: 1930's Vintage Samplers". This is a beautiful traditional pattern quilt with scalloped edges.

"That Quilter" - Donna Warnament

Donna will be here the first Tuesday of the month, that's January 4th, from 10 AM until Noon. If you have a quilt top that you would like to have quilted, bring it in and Donna can quilt it for you. If you dropped off your top last month, you may pick it up from her when she is at the shop.

Donna does outstanding work. If you are curious, come talk to her about quilting your top. We have several tops in the shop that she has quilted so you can see some examples of her work. There is additional information about service on her website at http://www.ThatQuilter.com.

Christmas Block of the Month

We will be starting a new Christmas Block of the Month series at the end of January.We are so excited about the quilt! It is gorgeous.It consists of 9 vintage Santas done in redwork and arranged in a star setting. We will have more details on the web site soon, so check back.

Now is the time to start on that Christmas quilt. Don't wait until November!

Quilting Classes - New Schedule Is Now Available

The new quilting class schedule is ready. You can view the schedule on our web site or come by the shop and pick up a printed copy. We have a great selection of classes again this quarter. If you are looking for something special that we do not have on the list, drop us a line, we are always looking for additional topics.

New Fabrics in the Shop

Moda’s new bluebonnet fabric is here and is selling fast! By the time that you are reading this, we hope to have some pictures of the fabric up on the web site. If we don't, you can always visit us and see it in person.

Quilt Block Kits Are Ready
