SunFlower Quilts extends a special welcome to all those of you who are in Houston to attend the Quilt Festival at the George. R. Brown Convention Center. Ever wonder what a charm square is? Do you like collecting 5” fabric charms but are not sure what to do with them? Then register for SunFlower Quilts’ new Charm School. No school supplies required! At each Charm School meeting, a new charm project will be unveiled. At each Charm School meeting you will receive the charm project pattern and a “working with charms square” tip sheet.
The first Charm School meeting will be Saturday August 16th at 9AM sharp and meet every other month. Thereafter Charm School months will be October, December, February, April, and June on the 3rd Saturday at 9AM sharp. So register today and start using all those pre cut charm squares!

We are participating in the FABSHOP HOP™, an internet shop hop that takes place October 1-31, 2008. Click the picture to learn some more about the shop hop.
We are beginning a new Block of the Month series in July, 2008. This quilt is called Garden Friends. This is a whimsical quilt with 'friends' that you might see in the garden. It has both piecing and appliqué.

The Wild Wild West Shop Hop dates have been set for June 19 – 21, 2008. We are asking our customers to donate predominately teal 12 ½” unfinished blocks again this year.
All the shops will be involved again with MD Anderson in the Quilt Teal campaign. Blank textiles have designed 14 new Ovarian Cancer Teal fabrics for us and will be available in late April. We will once again have a sew-in to put all the blocks together into tops in late September 28, 2008 from 2PM until 8PM. The online auction that MD Anderson conducted was a wonderful success!! The quilts and all of the wonderful hands and creative juices that made them raised $11,440! All of the proceeds from the auction go for Ovarian Cancer Research. We are featuring a Sunbonnet Sue and Overall Sam block of the month kit this year. This quilt features the "That Girl in the Bonnet" Sunbonnet Sue and her friend Overall Sam. For more information, check out the BOM Information form and the signup sheet for the BOM.
